As a community organizer, mother, and business owner, I have watched our state’s leadership ignore the best interests of Oklahomans again and again. This is bad governance and it’s just plain wrong.
I’m running because I know we can and must do better for our kids, our parents, our neighbors, and the future of Oklahoma.
Born and raised in New York, I planted my roots in Oklahoma 18 years ago. I volunteered at Edmond Public Schools for 15 years while my children were growing up. I watched first-hand as the most coveted schools in the district slowly deteriorate.
I have dedicated my life to serving others. While raising my children and pursuing my degrees, I launched Business Interludes to help women rebuild their financial lives after a crisis. Since that time, I have earned an MBA from the University of Central Oklahoma, published two books, completed a TED Talk, and have been a nationally recognized advocate for single mothers trying to rebuild their financial lives.
As a precinct chair for the Democratic Party, I have helped mobilize voters and support candidates as they prepare for elections. I regularly lobby on behalf of women and children at the State Capitol, serving as a voice for my community in the Oklahoma Legislature.
Through my community engagement, I have realized that the only way to improve Oklahoma is to replace the failed leadership in our State Legislature. Oklahomans deserve representatives who have a strong voice, a forthright attitude and the tenacity to get the job done.
I am ready to serve House District 82, and I invite you to join me.
